New York Giants Set To Face Los Angeles Rams In Week 2 Of NFL Season On Monday Night Football
The NFL says a great deal about how they feel about a team when they release the schedule for the upcoming NFL season. With the latest leak, just hours ahead of the official schedule release, the league is putting all of its eggs in the basket of the New York Giants. The Giants will face the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2 of the season on “Monday Night Football.”
That marquee matchup will come on the heels of Cowboys-Giants in Week 1 on “Sunday Night Football.” The 4-13 team will have back-to-back primetime games to open up the regular season. Can “Big Blue” live up to the hype in 2026?
Are the Giants Worthy Of All This Publicity?
The New York Giants had a great offseason. It began with the hiring of Super Bowl-winning Head Coach John Harbaugh. He is expected to bring a sense of stability and competence to a franchise stuck in the wilderness. New York also had a strong 2026 NFL Draft. They drafted Linebacker Arvell Reese No. 5 overall and Offensive Tackle Francis Mauigoa at No. 10.
New York is also hoping young Quarterback Jaxson Dart can take a step forward in his sophomore season. He has talent, but is unbelievably reckless. Dart found himself being tested for a concussion more times in one season than many players are tested in the entirety of their careers.
Looking Ahead To 2026 NFL Season
The league is certainly bullish on the New York Giants heading into the upcoming season. The team is a trendy pick to win the NFC East and on the bubble of a postseason berth. Only time will tell if the team can live up to those lofty expectations.
